A very fine and elegant Regency period Pembroke table in the manner of Gillows
English, c. 1820.
The rectangular mahogany veneered top, palisander crossbanded and strung, with reeded edge and two drop leaves with rounded corners, supported by four swinging brackets. There are cock beaded faux drawers on either side, above ebonised reeded stringing to the bottom edge of the frieze. Raised on four elegant turned and reeded legs - signature of Gillows - terminating in original brass cup castors. The timber has developed a fantastic colour with striking grain and desirable patina.
Excellent original antique condition.
