





A fine mid-18th century George II period Cuban mahogany kneehole desk of diminutive proportions in remarkably original condition.
English, c. 1750
The moulded rectangular solid mahogany top, over a long frieze drawer, above the knee hole with a concealed shallow drawer above a recessed door, enclosing a shelf, flanked by three smaller drawers to either side. Raised on original double bracket feet; the oak backboards and brass handles with plates are original too. Complete with an 18th century key; locks in working condition. Oak lined, lip-moulded and finely dovetailed drawers; solid mahogany side boards, top and façade; original surfaces, superb colour and patination. Minor historic restorations.
