










Very fine late George III - early Regency period Rosewood, Satinwood and Brass Mounted Secretaire Bookcase Cabinet or Chiffonier, in the manner of Gillows
English, circa 1800.
The three-tier superstructure comprising adjustable, brass-galleried shelves, above a pull-out writing slide with an adjustable ratchet set in the centre above two short mahogany lined drawers which are strung in satinwood and ebony, with a brass waist moulding over a pair of panelled and brass-moulded cupboard doors, enclosing two adjustable shelves, the whole raised on panelled and satinwood inlaid sabre feet.
Very fine quality, pleasing faded colour, elegant and restrained design. Particularly beautiful and useful piece.
