A very fine and elegant George III Sheraton period foldover games table, in mahogany, kingwood and satinwood
England, circa 1790
The D-shaped top in strikingly figured mahogany, banded in kingwood, strung with boxwood and ebony lines, opening to reveal a green baize lined playing surface, tooled to the edge, supported on double gatelegs, above a conforming inlaid frieze, raised on square tapered legs headed with figured satinwood tablets and ending in ebonised collar feet.
Striking colour and grain, exotic veneers throughout, particularly elegant design.
