A superb mid-18th century Georgian tea table of beautiful colour and glorious patination. England, circa 1760–70.
Why we like it
A delightfully unembellished mid-18th century George III period side table of notably small scale, with of simple, superbly drawn design that lets its proportions do the work. Undecorated in the best sense, it stands out for the crisp, confident profiles of its mouldings. The surface is remarkably untouched, with history literally engrained in its rich patina, that gives the piece its character and warmth, the kind of original finish that’s increasingly hard to find. It’s an exceptional table in its own way - simple in form, but rare in the quality of its drawing and the integrity of its surface.
