19th Century Victorian Opaline Glass Table Lamp

Superb mid-19th century Victorian period opaline glass and brass table lamp of large scale. 

English, circa 1840–60. 

Why we like it

Rich and contrasting in texture without the risk of appearing too ornate, this lamp is a rare surviving example of this design. Originally an oil lamp, it was converted to electricity early in the 20th century.
