An extremely rare early 18th century George II period parquetry cocuswood tea caddy. English, circa 1750.
Why we like it
It is hard to overstate how rarely George II–period parquetry tea caddies become available, let alone complete with their original Old Sheffield plate canisters, escutcheon, and handle.
The mellowed colour of the cocuswood is beyond delightful, while an exquisite handle and escutcheon complete the appearance.
