A very rare and beautiful pair of wall mirrors in elaborately carved giltwood frames after designs by a 18th century designer Thomas Johnson. English, circa 1880.
Why we like them
The superb quality of carving and their softened, time-worn look make this pair a rare find and a very charming addition to a classical or contemporary interior.
Condition
Good original antique condition, historic restorations to a few carvings, minor chips and touchups to decoration. Mirror plates are of a later date.
N.B. The gilding has a gorgeous and highly desirable muted shine in normal daylight; it appears excessively bright under professional studio lighting.
