An unusually sculptural pair of Regency period hall chairs attributed to Gillows of Lancaster and London.
England, circa 1815.
Why we like them
Superb quality, bold, unusual design of elaborate shapes, informed by Roman antiquity. Wonderfully quirky hall chairs, for classic, eclectic or modern interior.
Attribution
Although the design of the backs is quite unique, the form and detailing of the front legs is typical of Gillows, as is the choice and quality of timber.
