About This Object
An interesting small pedestal table, of the Regancy period, in figured mahogany with geometric ebonised inlays and ormolu mounts.

Why we love it
We love its architectural quality and austere, geometric design, inspired by Classical Antiquity. A number of distinctive stylistic features link it to the oeuvre of George Bullock, possibly the coolest Brititsh designer of the Regency period, whose extraordinary understanding and use of classical design vocabulary make his creations timeless and looking as modern now as they were back in the days.
Attribution
The top and base of this table relate to a companion pair of tables attributed to George Bullock, sold Christie's London, 15 September 2005, lots 153 and 154. Related pedestal tables, possibly by George Bullock, (d. 1818) were formerly at Endsleigh, Devon (sold by the Endsleigh Fishing Club and Endsleigh Charitable Trust, Christie's 'Two Ducal Collections' house sale, Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, 21 September 2004, lots 821-827).
