A superb mid-18th century Georgian table, in the finest Santo Domingo mahogany of beautiful colour and figuring, with a fold over top and boldly carved cabriole legs. English, circa 1740–50.
Why we like it
We love the sculptural quality of its shapely legs, the confident carving of the finest level, combined with a most beautiful choice of timber and a fantastic colour. It holds the ground nicely, has a certain visual presence despite its scale, a perfect little console table for a narrow space.
