An impossibly chic early 19th century Italian sgabello or stool of neoclassical design. Possibly Venice, circa 1830’s.
Why we like it
We love its beautifully aged painted decoration and the highly sculptural quality of its curved paw-footed legs, inspired by the bronze furniture of Ancient Rome.

Condition
Reupholstered by hand using traditional techniques. The fabric is a vintage roll of unused mohair velvet in old gold that I happened to come across, and the piece is finished with matching hand-crafted tufting.
