An unusual small table, of exquisite spider leg design, with octagonal top
English, circa 1770.
Why we love it
The design of this little gem is absolutely exquisite, definitely worth to be displayed in a design museum. Beautifully flowing forms, splendid execution, wonderfully preserved condition.
The octagonal top is made of a beautiful cut of mahogany, that mellowed to a very pleasing amber colour. Very few such delicate pieces survived to these days in such remarkably original condition, and this rare survivor is also super stylish.
Fine original condition, pleasing colour.
